Libraries Hosting Flood Safety Awareness Seminars

Sarasota County Environmental Services staff will be at Sarasota County Libraries during the months of March, April and May to raise awareness of the dangers associated with flooding, answer questions about steps property owners can take to protect against damage, and to highlight some of the efforts the county is taking to reduce the risk of flooding in the area.

Free seminars will be held at Selby Library, 1331 First St., Sarasota, Fruitville Library, 100 Coburn Road, Sarasota, Jacaranda Library, 4143 Woodmere Blvd., Venice, North Port Library, 13800 Tamiami Trail, North Port and Elsie Quirk Library, 100 West Dearborn St., Englewood.

The events are supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency's FloodSmart Campaign and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
