Sarasota may fire engineers on sewage project

SARASOTA – It could be two more years before the city has a new lift station to pump sewage under Hudson Bayou.

The city plans to fire the Fortune 500 company that it hired in 2008 to write the specifications for the project, which is supposed to move nearly one-third of Sarasota's sewage through underground pipes.
