Manasota Beach Park boat ramp and parking lot closing for renovations

SARASOTA COUNTY – The Manasota Beach Park boat ramp and parking lot will be closed for five months starting Monday, May 8, for a planned capital improvement project.

The project includes constructing a paved parking area with ADA parking, stormwater treatment areas, sidewalks, removal of invasive and nuisance plants, native vegetation installation and a boat wash area. Stormwater treatment improvements are expected to improve the water quality of the adjacent Lemon Bay.

The project is expected to be completed in fall of 2017, subject to weather and material availability. The nearest alternate public motorized boat launch areas are available at Indian Mound Park, 210 Winson Ave., Englewood; and Marina Park, 301 East Venice Ave., Venice.
